Material And Care

How do I care for my Cashmere products

We recommend a gentle hand wash in cold / lukewarm water. After washing, the cloth should be carefully squeezed out (please do not wring) and then laid out flat to dry. It can also be rolled into a towel.

Your towel should only be washed if really necessary. Smaller stains can be carefully dabbed or brushed out in places. Hang up your scarf regularly overnight for airing, because a cashmere scarf needs a lot of air to breathe. In this way you will also get rid of smells from your last restaurant visit, for example.

Before using your new scarf, hang it up in a well-ventilated, humid room for a few hours, if possible. This will cause the fibers that have been pressed down during storage to straighten up again. Since our cloths are not pre-treated, all their quality develops only during wearing. A light, natural smell is a normal characteristic of any natural product, but will soon disappear.

If your scarf gets wet, give it time to dry slowly. Excessive heating air or even the dryer would only damage your cloth.

The finer and softer the cashmere hairs used, the more care they should be treated. A cashmere scarf made of 100% finest down hair, without any mixture with silk (which gives cashmere a certain stability), is never abrasion-resistant. This is the reason for the so-called “pilling”. Other products made of high-quality wool, such as mohair and angora, also exhibit “pilling” due to friction. The appearance of “pilling”, also known as small wool nodules, is not to be considered a quality defect. This is a natural appearance of natural products and can easily be brushed off with a standard wool comb.
